Vitamin E deficiency:

• hemolytic anemia (with hematopoiesis abnormal and reduced lifespan of the erythrocytes)
• progressive muscular dystrophy (with créatinurie increased)
• syndrome neurodegenerative with axonal dystrophy (especially in children with malabsorption)
• impairment of the retina and degeneration of the retinal pigmentation

Increased need:

• special physical effort
• diet rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids

Malabsorption:

• pancreatitis
• gastrectomy
• cystic fibrosis
• lily of the valley
• abétalipoprotéinémie
