Dermatix® be used both in adults than in children for the prevention and treatment of hypertrophic scars and keloids (= overgrowth of scar tissue, swelling, scar) not yet reached fully mature. The risk of this type of scars is especially important following a surgical procedure, after an accident or a physical trauma or burns. Dermatix® reduces the visibility of scars and prevents the development of new scars.
Dermatix® gel is used preferably after the healing of the wound and closure of the skin. Dermatix® can also be used on scars not yet mature, red, and very visible when they are still in the process of healing. The gel should be applied in a thin layer over clean, dry skin twice a day (morning and evening) for at least two months. In the case of scars recalcitrant, a treatment duration of more prolonged may be necessary.
The active substance is azelastine.The other ingredients are methylhydroxypropylcellulose edetate sodium chloride debenzalkonium sorbitol sodium hydroxide water for injections.
