The amount of carbohydrates available, is a factor determining performance in endurance sports and exercises intermittent high-intensity (alternating exercises and short breaks). This is why it is important to supplement the reserves of carbohydrates during this type of exercises. They ensure the maintenance of blood glucose levels during the workout and replenish glycogen stores in muscle.

These energy bars are available to use before and during exercise. Before exercise, an athlete's body must contain a rate as high as possible of carbohydrates. To this end, he must consume foods rich in carbohydrates in the days leading up to the competition or heavy workout (= charging in carbohydrates) and take a meal rich in carbohydrates 1 hour and a half to 4 hours before competition. Etixx Energy bar can be used in-case the days before the competition and during or shortly after the meal prior to the competition.

In the absence of consumption of carbohydrates during prolonged exercise, the reserves of muscle glycogen is depleted after about 90 min. How much carbohydrates should you eat during exercise?

  • Exercises < 1 h (15) there's no need to consume carbohydrate during exercise.
  • Exercises 1 to 2 h: 30g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise.
  • Exercises 2 to 3 h: 60g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise.
  • Exercises >2.5 to 3 h: up to 90g of carbohydrates per hour of exercise.

The bars Etixx Natural Oat Bars, with their 30 g of carbohydrates per bar, not only bring the energy necessary for optimum performance, but also contain nearly 10 % of fat in more than the bars Etixx Energy Sport Bar. They are therefore ideal during the first part of effort of long duration and low intensity. In addition, they offer a heightened sense of satiety.

Who will benefit from the Natural Oat Sport Bar?

The energy bars provide the body with energy in the long term during the year. They are therefore excellent to consume during competitions of endurance athletes (marathoners, triathletes, cyclists, swimmers, long distances, etc) and to team sports and racket (football, basketball, tennis, etc). The same goes for athletes \"explosive\" that are subject to training sessions of several hours to the string (as an example sprinters, jumpers, throwers, weightlifters, etc), and athletes who provide efforts in the medium term (runners, swimmers, kayakers, rowers, etc), who will benefit from energy bars to keep their energy reserves.
