The dressing foam Mepilex Border AG is made up of the following layers:

a contact layer (in contact with the wound) soft silicone; an absorbing layer of polyurethane foam impregnated with sulphate of silver and coal assets; a layer of superabsorbent polyacrylate fibres;

a film of non-woven (non woven) water-resistant, and permeable to water vapor.

Absorbs exudate, maintains a healing environment moist to the wound and has antimicrobial characteristics.

The sulphate of silver release, after contact with the liquid-traumatic stress disorder (sweating), silver ions, which is used to form a barrier against the bacteria and reduces the formation of unpleasant odors.

Mepilex Border AG is to advocate for the wound exudate moderate to severe, such as ulcers of the leg and the foot, pressure ulcers, wounds, malignant, second degree burns and traumatic wounds, and surgical.

Mepilex Border AG may be used on infected wounds, provided they make part of a treatment under the supervision of a person qualified to provide care.

Mepilex Border AG may finally be used under compression dressings.

Method of application:

Clean the wound using a saline solution or with water, and this while respecting the protocol standard of clinical cleaning wounds;
Well dry the periwound skin;


Remove the protective sheet and place the dressing with the edges adherent to the wound.

Do not stretch the dressing.

Caution: in order to ensure the best result, it is necessary to ensure that the edges adherent extend beyond the edges of the wound, at least 2 cm.

Mepilex Border AG can remain in place for up to 7 days depending on the patient and the condition of the wound.
