The test strip is specific for glucose and can only be used to determine the amount of glucose in the urine. The test zone of the test strips DIASTIX is ready to use right out of the bottle. When it is immersed in the urine, the test area changes color in the presence of glucose. The test strips DIASTIX inform you, you and your doctor of changes in your health that may require adjustments to your diet and/or drug treatments.

It is important to follow carefully the schedule of test set up for you by your doctor.

You can either collect urine in a clean, dry container, either place the test strip in the urine stream. Perform the test as soon as possible. If the test cannot be performed within an hour after voiding, put the sample immediately cool and allow to return to room temperature before testing. Prolonged exposure of the urine without preservative at room temperature may result in microbial contamination and consumption of the glucose of the urine by bacteria. The accuracy of the result can be affect. The conservative urine can change the outcome of the tests.
